Couple the outdoor adventures with tasty meals and hunting down the perfect local gift – and we have no doubt you will be feeling festive in no time. Let us help you experience the holiday season like a local, and check out our “must try” experiences below.

Sip Something Seasonal

Staying warm and toasty is a must in the Maritimes, and what better way than a nice warm beverage. Many cafés offer delicious holiday drinks over the winter months, including Bar55 right here on site. There are also tons of other locally-owned cafes serving up holiday flare in the immediate area including Café Archibald, Jassy Boutique & Tea Room, Café Bistro C’est La Vie, Café l’Admiral, Café Codiac and more.

Get Cooking & Share a Meal

Nothing brings a family together over the holidays like a nicely cooked meal! Make this winter the one where you learn something new that you can share with your family. Farm to Table NB is just one of the local cooking class experiences you can sign up for. If, you consider yourself a skilled chef already, then consider adding a local touch to your meal like a baguette from Co-Pain bakery, cheese from Les Gourmandes or a spread from Black Bord.

Get Outside for some Winter Fun

What better way to stay warm this season than staying active! We have so many amazing walking and hiking trails at our fingertips. Whether it’s sledding, snowshoeing or fat biking (PS: We have two for complimentary guest use), Moncton has tons of winter fun places to explore! Immediately surrounding the city you’ll find Centennial Park, Mapleton Park and Irishtown Nature Park – or take a day trip to one of the national parks like Fundy or Kouchibouguac.

Skating at the Ian Fowler Oval in the heart of Downtown Moncton is a winter bucket-list must! Located right under the lights of the Avenir Centre it’s an experience like no other. With an outdoor stage, often there’s live musical performances at the rink.

Hit the Slopes

Let us be your home base as you head to Poley Mountain for a day on the mountain. Just an hour’s drive, whether you enjoy skiing or snowboarding, you will surely have a day of fun! Once done crushing the slopes, you can enjoy a beverage and a bite at their lodge before heading back to settle into one of our cozy beds.

Head to Turner’s Christmas at the Coliseum

A local tradition, the 34th Annual Turner’s Christmas at the Coliseum takes place from November 26-28, 2021. This market features crafts, specialty foods, art and antiques with nearly 200 different exhibitors. There’s no way you will leave without the perfect gifts for your friends, family – or even yourself! With so must holiday fun to take in, you will want to make a full day of Turner’s – and we will be here to rest your head when you are done.

Downtown Moncton is home to many established and locally-owned restaurants offering heart warming meals and delightful comfort foods. Many of these restaurants such, as Clos and Black Rabbit feature curated seasonal menus so you can enjoy the flavours of the Maritimes. Other local area favourites featuring tasting menus include Tony’s Bistro & Pâtisserie and Little Louis. There are tons of options in the Greater Moncton area to grab a holiday feast , including Gahan House right here on-site.

Not only do we have Bar55 here on-site featuring hand-crafted seasonal cocktails, but there’s a great selection of places to grab a drink within walking distance of us. Whether you like it on the rocks or shaken up, you’ll surely find your perfect holiday drink at either St. Jame’s Gate, Third Glass Wine & Martini Bar or the Laundromat Espresso Bar! If you prefer something a little less refined, you can always grab a brew and take in live tunes at the Old Triangle or Pumphouse – both local favourites.

Enjoy a Live Show

From its lighted marquee to the lovely theatre and balcony seating area, the Capitol Theatre is an icon of Downtown Moncton! When it comes to the holidays, the Nutcracker Ballet is a long-time local favourite performance that we recommend you visit! But don’t worry there’s tons of music, comedy and more happening at the Capitol to get you all the way through the winter blues. If you prefer the traditional winter activity of hockey, catch a local Moncton Wildcats game at the Avenir Centre.
